Gore is dedicated to using his healing crisis as a platform to educate the community about art therapy. He has developed his workshop series entitled “The Art of Healing,” initially sponsored by the Lomax Family Foundation. The Painted Bride hosted the first two series of his workshop, which incorporated interactive art creation, dance, music, and nutrition education to help participants explore their creative expression and self-identity.  Recently at the Woodmere Museum’s Annual 76th Juried Exhibition, Gore’s highlighted piece “Creating Beyond Limitation” (a tribute to esteemed artist Horace Pippin) won first prize.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT: Examining the components that create the whole is key to understanding what the natural world can offer in lifting and healing the spirit. Appreciating how these pieces complement and support each other is central to the message in my work. Seeing how each color, each line, each shape, each layer, contributes to the total structure and flow of an object (or object of my attention) still fascinates me.   However, as I get older, I no longer look at the subject matter with superficial curiosity. I look for some kind of direction, some deeper meaning, some kind of sign, something that will assure me that sudden or gradual change is nothing to be afraid of. In each color, line, shape, and layer of these rocks, I've found stability and resolve in the natural beauty of change.

I followed the white rabbit down the rabbit hole. I cannot share in words what I have learned but give my audience a glimpse of what is down the rabbit hole if you dare. Different dimensions, realms, worlds and timelines of the universes as long as you are willing to seek. What you are looking for, is also looking for you.... I started this art journey as a child going to many art programs and art camps. As I grew, my gifts and passions were forgotten as I tried to fit in to this society. I’m finally ok with not fitting in. I’ve gotten back to who I was before everyone told me who to be. Your healed inner child knows the path to your happiness. I had to do a lot of inner child healing work. As I did, my God-given gifts came back. As I continue the healing journey, more gifts return. I encourage everyone to take the time to really truly heal their inner child, adolescent child and their adult child, mind body and soul so all your gifts can come back to you.

The creative works I do offer the viewer a glimpse into not only my world view but a sort of mirror image to their own personality. With the work I seek to ask the viewer questions of passion into their own lives, the works are heavily textured and calculated, bursting with energy. Up close one must gaze at them and see the depths of the organized chaos. These  works are not meant to be glanced at, but to arrest those whose spirit is tuned to that the particular station that plays lush tunes set to voices of freedom and insight for all.
